Turkin erinomaiset uudet tilat, joita mainostetaan IMEX 2009 -ohjelmassa

Istanbulin kongressilaakso laajenee hämmästyttävällä uudella kehityksellä, joka avataan lokakuussa 2009.

Istanbul’s congress valley is expanding with some amazing new developments that will open in October 2009. The Harbiye Congress and Cultural Centre will boast an auditorium for 3,500 people, foyer, and exhibition space of over 10,000 square meters and further flexible meeting rooms.

The Halic (Golden Horn) Congress Center, which recently opened its doors with the organization of 5th World Water Forum, has a main auditoria for 3,104 delegates and stands on the shore of the Golden Horn, an area of great historic interest in one of the most beautiful parts of the city. Istanbul Congress Bay is another main development of the Istanbul Congress City Project. The Halic Congress Center, which has a rich background, initially as a slaughterhouse, with 86,000 squares meters of indoor space, is connected by the Historical Galata Bridge to the Feshane International Exhibition, Congress and Culture Center.

As well as finding out more about these exciting new facilities during IMEX, buyers can enquire about any type of event that they may be planning in Turkey. Thirty-five companies will be represented on the stand from convention and tourism organizations, airlines, convention centers, hotels, professional conference organizers, and destination management companies.

On Wednesday, May 27, the Turkish stand representatives will be hosting a special reception for meeting planners from 1600 to 1700 hours. Accompanying finger food, Turkish wine and coffee will be served, and artisans will be demonstrating their exquisite work. There will also be a prize drawing to win 3 dream holiday packages to Antalya, Istanbul, and Izmir, including flights and accommodation.

“We are very excited about the new developments in Istanbul and particularly in showing these to the buyers who will be attending IMEX this year,” said Mrs. Elif Balci Fisunoglu, director of sales and marketing at the Istanbul Convention and Visitors Bureau. “Istanbul hosted the 5th World Water Forum in March 2009, which attracted participants from 192 countries, as well as 3 princes, 3 presidents, 5 prime ministers, over 90 ministers, 63 mayors, and approximately 30,000 attendees. We are also hosting the IMF-World Bank meeting in October 2009 with around 10,000 delegates.

“It is a very exciting time for Turkey, and we are benefiting hugely from all of these new developments to attract even more international conference business to our country,” concluded Mrs. Fisunoglu.
