HONOLULU, Hawaii – Hyatt Regency Waikiki Beach Resort and Spa, in partnership with The Salvation Army Hawaiian and Pacific Island Division, will host a bell-ringing fundraiser on the hotel property Th

HONOLULU, Hawaii – Hyatt Regency Waikiki Beach Resort and Spa, in partnership with The Salvation Army Hawaiian and Pacific Island Division, will host a bell-ringing fundraiser on the hotel property Thursday, April 28 from noon to 9:00 pm. Volunteer bell ringers will be located on the corners of Kalakaua Avenue and Ka’iulani Avenue, as well as Kalakaua Avenue and Uluniu Avenue. Proceeds from the event will go to The Salvation Army Japan Relief Effort. Hyatt has promised to match up to US$2,500 to the amount raised.

“It will take billions of dollars to rebuild the country of Japan. The Salvation Army has three relief teams already working there. The monies raised by Hyatt Regency Waikiki Beach will be used to assist in the massive endeavor of repairing the country,” said Daniel de Castro, spokesperson for The Salvation Army Hawaiian and Pacific Islands Division.

“Hyatt’s mission is to make a difference in the lives we touch every day. At Hyatt Regency Waikiki Beach, we are creating opportunities here to help provide emergency assistance and relief aide to the people of Japan. Whether the monies are coming from our ongoing Aloha for Japan fundraiser, or bell ringing for The Salvation Army, our associates are doing everything possible to help the nation of Japan to rebuild and thrive,” said David Lewin, general manager at Hyatt Regency Waikiki Beach Resort and Spa.
